The worlds largest salt flats part 1

Day 1 (part 1)

We always are in search for the next crazy adventure. That’s where the 3 day/2 night Uyuni salt flat tour, the world largest and highest salt desert at 12000 feet above sea level. (Where you get to take cool perspective photos.)

We had WhatsApp Salty Desert Aventours the night before to book us in for a Spanish tour for 850 bolivianos. They agreed to reserve our spot and we were to pay in the morning when we arrived in uyuni

Day 1

We arrived in uyuni on the sleeper bus at 6: 15 am, one of the representatives for desert salt was waiting with a sign with our names on it and showed us where to go. The town is very small but it was nice not needing to wander around with all our bags in search for a tour company. You must pay before 8 am or they will give your seats to someone else, so that’s what we did. The tour starts at 10 am so we had 3 hours to freshen up and buy snacks. There are washrooms nearby that you can use for 2 bolivianos, a few cafes and stores were even open at that time and everything else seemed to open up at 8 am. There are also hostels if you want to stay the night. We liked the idea of starting the tour the same day.

We bought all our water and snacks and toilet paper. Make sure you also have some Bolivian money as there are no atms on the tour and you will have to pay to enter the national park and to use the washrooms or showers and snacks.
